Thank you for your interest in my portfolio! The goal in which I intended was to show that simplicity can make a very striking graphic and possible say the most without saying anything at all. Please enjoy!

This is my final sketch of my design of a CD cover. This is for no specific band. The goal of the exercise was to explore size, texture, value, and color. For this exercise I tried to think about how a single CD cover would get a person's attention in room full of other Cd's. My solution was a lot of color and variation of that color.
This is a poster of the elements and principles of design. The point of this project was to make sure of the understanding in how each of these effects the other. The target audience was instructors of graphic design courses to show their students the elements and principles of design. I allowed a lot of white space in my design for instructors to write notes or other comments on to help their students.
This is a magazine page that I have designed. The goal was to create a magazine page using grid design of your choice, use text as information, and text as image. This was to show knowledge of grids and use of text. I used these colors because I felt the would catch a readers eye the most while flipping through a magazine.
This is my advertisement for the National Education Association event "Read Across America". It was intended to inspire children and their parent to read more. The goal was to also incorporate the cover page of the children's book that you we're also working on at the time. This was not my final choice on my cover page, but I believe my point was made. I wanted to show that reading could allow a child's mind to expand through imagination and stories.
One project was focused on redesigning a children's book for Barefoot books. This is my cover for "The Captain's Goose". I kept it simple and used part of a photograph from the story itself. The book was soft covered and either had to be stitched or stapled together. My idea behind the book was something light for mother's to carry and something cheap for the children to tear up, if they so choose.
This is my design for a history of graphic design exhibit for MODA (Museum of Modern Design in Atlanta). The exhibit was supposed to show how graphic design has evolved throughout the years starting with commercial art and print technologies. The ideal size of this exhibit was 10' by 20' wall. This poster was done on a 3/4" scale. I designed to have more pictures to show each rather than to explain it. I saw the exhibit having more tour guides around it explaining the different time periods.
It was also a requirement to change the MODA logo. My logo is in the bottom right corner of the poster. It used to be black and red but I turn the entire thing grey and put orange splotches in the letters. I believe that this represents the troubled designer and artist which MODA represents.
